Hi! I’m Danait Desta,

I’m an Art Director based in New York City, but before that, I was just a 17-year-old from Maryland, eagerly applying for intern positions in NYC. Unbeknownst to my employers, I'd hop on $15 roundtrip China bus tickets, unsure if I'd eventually call this city home. I got to know this city through lugging clothing racks across the garment district, running onto uptown A trains in hopes of reaching Soho, and relying on the kindness of strangers who took pity on me. In 2019, those round trips became a one-way ticket, and I've been here ever since.
